New owner of Manchester landmark brings building back to the family

MANCHESTER — All the time Travis York was considering new locations for his GYK Antler marketing and advertising agency, he overlooked perhaps the most obvious choice.

The R.G. Sullivan 7-20-4 Cigar building on Canal Street is a downtown landmark with more than 100 years of history and a special significance to York’s own family, which once owned it.

York brought it back to the family earlier this month, purchasing the seven-story structure where his grandfather used to run the Indian Head Shoe Co.

“That definitely added to it from a personal standpoint,” said York, president and CEO of GYK Antler.
