Assistant Media Planner, Paid Social

GYK Antler is looking for an Assistant Social Media Specialist. A media professional who possesses a solid understanding of the paid social and programmatic landscapes. This person has a grasp on how display and social media marketing works, how to engage consumers through digital channels and, ideally, has some hands-on experience managing social media communities for businesses or brands. Furthermore, the Social Media Specialist is one who has a visible passion for media strategy, all forms of digital media, and uses social platforms regularly in their daily routine. They are excited to learn and become an expert in technology platforms and emerging channels.


  • Be self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, reliable, and accountable
  • Work collaboratively with the integrated media team to support the development and execution of media strategies and plans by helping to:
  • Select digital media channels and make recommendations based on client campaign goals
  • Understand the pros and cons of each digital media type and how that relates to individual client strategies and traditional media tactics planned by your peers
  • Collaborate with cross-channel media team to ensure seamless execution of media plans, campaign set up, and tracking
  • Collaborate with account, production, and data/analytics teams
  • Schedule organic content on social channels and manage inputs
  • As needed, perform and supervise community management related tasks
  • Pull user-generated content for various clients
  • Promote organic content through Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest
  • Upload sponsored ads on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube
  • Research current events in the industry and optimizations on social platforms
  • Assist with finding and creating content across platforms
  • Management of budget allocation and reconciliation
  • Help set up online campaigns and tracking and delegate to and direct media coordinators and interns on process
  • Utilize self-service programmatic platforms as necessary
  • Monitor, analyze, optimize, and educate based on campaign performance with recommendations on inventory, channel, and creative shifts
  • Provide detailed reporting, analysis and recommendations
  • Management of smaller media accounts with minimal supervision
  • Must embrace uncertainty and change and thrive on the challenge of doing something new
  • Maintain the agency’s core values and professional standards and provide leadership to media coordinators and interns
  • Be positive, flexible, and curious

  • 2-3 years of digital and social media working experience
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge across social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube/Google suite)
  • Understanding of programmatic self-service platforms
  • Knowledge of DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM) is a plus
  • Ability to maintain and meet client deadlines
  •  Work as a team player with employees at all levels
