Associate Media Director

GYK Antler is looking for a driven AMD to join our team. This position requires a strong self-starter with the motivation to jump right in.

Responsibilities:

Internal: Operations, Tactics & Strategy

  • Be self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented analytical, reliable, and accountable
  • Advances best practices of agency process, values, and principles
  • Partners with internal departments to collaborate, build relationships, share learnings for improved output and workflow
  • Responsible for developing and executing holistic media strategies; leads team in paid media development, execution, and innovation
  • Works alongside internal strategy team to develop plans and objectives to align with the client’s marketing direction and brand goals
  • Identifies business KPIs at the onset of a campaign and uses those business and media metrics as a tool to help upsell and cross-sell services to clients
  • Focuses on performance for media recommendations throughout the life of a campaign, ensuring clients goals are being met (ROI impact) with aggressive optimizations
  • Manages the process and procedure for client set up, billing and overseeing related administrative client on-boarding functions
  • Evaluates composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach the target audience. Extensive knowledge of role, strengths, and weaknesses of all media channels
  • Responsible for creating and flawlessly executing a media plan that connects clients to their consumers
  • Delegates plan and campaign management responsibilities to ensure the most effective use of media team talent
  • Monitors campaign timelines to ensure proper progression of media buys, delivery of paperwork to vendors, specs to creative teams/agencies, delivery of creative assets to vendors, etc.
  • Serves as an expert on digital marketing, buying practices, digital ad operations, measurement tracking and ensures junior members of the team are following such practices
  • Contributes to new business efforts as needed
  • Leads resource management for direct reports to ensure optimal employee utilization
  • Ensures billings forecasts and commission actuals are updated monthly, as needed
  • Continuously striving to improve workflow process within media department and cross-functional teams
  • Is a thought leader on emerging channels and technologies and strives to test new media
  • Works with media director to ensure GYKA’s Media offering is cutting-edge and leading in the mid-size agency category (agency trade desk, media tool certifications, build case studies, contribute to industry articles)

Client Relationship, Communication

  • Responsible for fostering positive and strong client and vendor relationships, as well as inter-agency relationships
  • Manages the flow of client media-related needs, refers questions and problems to higher levels; creates solutions and resolves problems
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Effective listening skills to digest, process and guide strategy and problem resolution
  • Ability to write clear, cohesive, client-ready documents
  • Develops articulate and compelling decks with strong narrative, research and support points to obtain approval on optimal spend levels
  • Constantly looking for new and highly relevant incremental opportunities to upsell to existing clients to achieve organic growth

Leadership: Managing & Mentoring

  • Supervises, trains, and develops skills of junior staff by managing workload, delegating responsibilities, and checking work for accuracy
  • Provides job performance feedback to direct reports and makes recommendations to management for promotion or performance improvement
  • Supports media director in providing staffing recommendations and daily supervision to all accounts
  • Is a resource for others in resolution of complex problems/issues
  • Sets an example for effective team management and morale building
  • Acts as a mentor and providing proactive recommendations professional growth among the team; recognizes and develops individual growth
  • Monitors staff hours, resources, and client accounting with media director

SKILLS:

  • 8+ years of media planning/buying experience
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Experienced knowledge of DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM), MRI, Google Analytics, UTM creation. Ability to understand measurement & reporting platform nuances
  • Working knowledge across social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube/Google suite)
  • Ability to maintain and meet client deadlines
