2020 was a banner year for GYK. In fact, it was our best-performing year in company history! And halfway through 2021, our company, team and momentum continues to grow. We’re so pleased to have welcomed 19 team members to GYK so far this year.
As an integrated marketing company of creative entrepreneurs who believe the most impactful ideas happen at the intersection of strategy, creative and media, we’ve made several new hires across these functions, and more.
To support our growing media team, John Ghublikian came on board as an integrated media supervisor to help lead the department and provide valuable thought leadership throughout all stages of the marketing lifecycle. Before GYK, John spent two years working in comms/PR in Washington, D.C., then moved to New York City, where he spent the next five years in a fully integrated role and one year in brand strategy at agencies like MediaCom, Crossmedia and Horizon Media. In his free time, John is usually studying for exams or catching up on last week’s readings as a part-time MBA student with a dual focus on Marketing and Entrepreneurial Innovation at Northeastern University. The team welcomed Abby Sullivan as a senior integrated media planner to lead campaigns across a variety of clients like Hometown Financial Group, NH State Lottery, Sweet Baby Ray’s and Ken’s. Previously, Abby was at out-of-home shop Billups, where she created and executed innovative and high-quality OOH plans. Brianna Perry was named an integrated media planner and Morgan Andreasse joined as an assistant media planner, paid social. Brianna was previously at Norbella and Morgan was at Fuseideas. Bridget Reilly is our new social media coordinator.
Our creative team grew with five new additions. Senior copywriter George Sloan brings experiences working forthe CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” where he wrote and produced three episodes of the show. When the show ended, George began writing and directing commercials, music videos and documentaries, working with clients like Wendy’s, The Home Depot, RCA Records, Reddi-wip and Shutterfly. Along the way, George also wrote and directed a comedy spot for the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign. Tucker Friend joined the team as our newest art director, working on Sweet Baby Ray’s and Ken’s. Before GYK, Tucker was at New Balance, where he helped with creative, social and production. The team also welcomed Jackson Gilvar as a junior art director, Mary Robbins as a junior copywriter and Addison Silva as a junior designer.
To help lead our account team, group account director Jeff Newman will oversee client relationships like NH State Lottery, Ken’s and Sweet Baby Ray’s. Jeff was most recently at Zozimus Agency, where he served as an account director, collaborating with clients like Avidia Bank, Bryant University and Forma Therapeutics. Before Zozimus, Jeff was a sports marketing manager for Puma, leading their North American soccer business, which included key events, sponsorships, recruiting and managing all sponsored athletes. This experience sparked his interest in becoming an athlete agent, which he does in his spare time. Most notably, he’s represented Kelley O’Hara, U.S. Women’s National Team’s starting back, for over a decade.
To continue to ensure our client programs are delivered on time and on budget, our project management team has added three new members. Topher Dubay joined as the associate director of project management to help further develop, define and refine our processes and ensure exceptional outcomes. Topher is what we like to call a “boomerang” employee — he worked at GYK for nearly four years before going client-side at Bauer Hockey, where he spent two years helping to integrate their in-house creative team with the rest of the company. The team also welcomed project manager Nora Sullivan, who was previously a project manager at Vital Design. Emma Doherty also joined as a project management coordinator.
Additionally, Walter Gordon joined our strategy team as an associate strategist. Suellen Guerreiro came to the company to help support new business and brand marketing as a junior new business designer. Heather Schwarz is our new accounting coordinator, Renee Dubuc is a junior web developer and Fernanda Olliver is holding down the fort in our Boston office as an executive assistant and Boston office manager.
