Senior SEM Specialist

What is expected of you

We are looking for a Senior SEM/Digital Media subject matter expert to join our integrated media team. Your position will be to play a key role in growing our self-service platform offerings within paid search, paid social and programmatic media. You will be poised to educate your team members on best practices, particularly for SEM and SEO, while sharing your expertise across the agency at large.


  • Be self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, reliable and accountable
  • Work collaboratively with media, strategy, account, creative, production and data/analytics teams to support the development and execution of media strategies and plans by helping to:
    • Understand the pros/cons of each digital media type and how that relates to individual client strategies
    • Make appropriate recommendations based on client goals
  • Staying on top of latest SEM media trends, digital technologies and programmatic ad platforms
  • Be the lead for questions related to SEM internally and externally
  • Act as agency expert in Google Ads, Yahoo, Bing Paid Search and Google Shopping
  • Also have working knowledge of Amazon Search, Walmart Search and/or Kenshoo platforms
  • Provide additional support managing digital channels outside of core SEM — display, video, native, self-service DSP, etc.
  • Monitor, measure and report on the success of digital marketing efforts using tools such as Facebook Insights, Google Analytics and other digital analytics and monitoring platforms
  • Support set up of online campaigns and tracking through Google Analytics as well as DCM for display
  • Provide high-level SEO recommendations and run SEO audits, as needed
  • Make Google My Business recommendations for clients
  • Monitor, analyze, optimize and educate based on campaign performance with recommendations on inventory, channel and creative shifts
  • Manage budget allocation of digital channels
  • Provide detailed reporting, analysis and recommendations
  • Supervision of larger digital-only and e-commerce media accounts
  • Increased participation in client/internal status meetings, planning kickoff meetings and increased client-facing conversations (in person, phone, via email)
  • Must embrace uncertainty/change and thrive on the challenge of doing something new
  • Maintain the agency’s core values, professional standards and provide leadership to junior members of the media team and overall agency
  • Be positive, flexible and curious


  • 3-5 years of digital experience across multiple verticals, with increasing responsibility (e.g., ad agency media department, media company or client side)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
  • Expert proficiency and certification across Google Ads, Google Shopping, Google Analytics, Bing and Yahoo; Kenshoo and DCM a plus
